He'y'en'a (Original Music by WrestleWithTheSun)

A chant from the depth of the forest.
4

Hey.

I made this recording already in July last year by the lake in the forest. It has taken me some time to share it, it feels raw and vulnerable. But here it is.

The circular rhythm, the building and waving and self-inspiring harmonies, seem to slowly draw out something which was deep and and raw and there…

The rhythm, melody and syllables are borrowed from Anilah’s Medicine Chant. A moving recording and visuals that seem to connect you with the gritty hum of the earth herself. I don’t know what the sounds mean, but have gathered that the soundscape is similar to Native American ceremonial songs.

All Saint’ Day last November. The memorial garden of a church in a suburb of Stockholm. So many candles…
On a calm walk last week they appeared: The first snowdrops.

With love,
Alexander

Thank you for being here. If we slow down a little bit, there is wonder everywhere. I wish this publication to be a reminder, so that we may meet there.

PS. I deeply value that you are reading and listening to what I share here. Last couple of months I have been posting here less frequently. I have been taking on a new job, and much of my creative energy has been directed into that project and to the personal project of learning to manage and balance my time and energy well. It is such a gift for me to know that you are looking forward to one of my letters, I hope to soon be able to write you more often again ❤️
