I arrived back to Sweden a few days ago and I am still integrating and closing the Camino experience respectfully. Christmas has not landed as an immediate reality, so I was startled when my mother lit the second candle. It is the 2nd Sunday of Advent? Perfect! What a wonderful excuse to share this wintery song with you.
Yesterday I sat down with the intention to have some fun while making a song. I have historically been quite stiff with these things. So I practice having fun. This is what came out of that session.
There are some wintery feeeelings in there. May this little creation offer some light into your day.
Wondrous fall on a winter day
I saw you come through the snow
The day I fell down below
I melted through the crust
A winding path to trust
I looked through the frozen glass
And saw how you came through the shoveled pass
Warm with my tea of cloves
And yet time froze
I’ll always have you coming closer
Never ever turn away
This wondrous fall
On a winter day
I saw the snow on your face
It melted fast and so did grace
For you came in a rush
The crystal it turned to slush
And then you went away
When I really wanted you to stay
I fell in a different hole
I sat with an empty bowl
I’ll always want you coming closer
Never ever turn away
This wondrous fall
On a winter day
When I had a moment, moment
To be with all my feeling, feelings
I made myself a cup of cloves
And my heart unfroze
I’ll always have myself here closer
And never ever turn away
This wondrous fall
On a winter’s day.
Until next time,
Alexander
